Your hands on help at the shelter or a few hours of time at a fundraiser means we can continue

to help the animals who need it most!

ADOPT ~ Finding forever homes for the animals is what it is all about!

Animals are vet-checked, medically treated, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated and microchipped.

Those over 5-6 months will be spayed or neutered.

Cruelty Complaints

At this time, Norfolk County OPP investigate acts of Cruelty or Neglect throughout Norfolk County.

If you would like to report an act of cruelty to the OSPCA please contact 1-888-668-7722 (for emergencies during weekends or evenings dial ext. 1) or click here to send an email.

If you are witnessing an act of Cruelty or an animal is in immediate distress due to an act of Cruelty, please contact your local police department.

Although Norfolk County OPP conduct animal cruelty investigations throughout the area, Simcoe and District Humane Society helps with the care, treatment and housing of animals when requested. As with all programs within the Society, the cost of care for these animals is not covered by any level of government or other organization. SDHS relies on fundraising efforts and donations from the community while helping the animals.
