    Simcoe & District Humane Society

    is helping animals throughout Norfolk County...

    Those in most desperate need!

    Your help is needed Now more than ever!

    Over 100 kittens and cats, often dogs, horses, in the care of Simcoe and District

    Humane Society are relying on volunteers and donations to keep them healthy, vet treated, vaccinated, fed

    and in the case of the felines in care - littered.

     

    Without your help, the Society cannot continue to help these precious animals including those waiting for

    adoption, those brought soaked and cold from the rain, and those clinging to life or recouping after illness or

    accident.

     

    Please open your hearts and donate now to help us continue the care of these and other animals most in need

    brought in throughout Norfolk County!

    Due to the over whelming number of animals in care, we are asking people to use email to contact volunteers at

    Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday 11am-3pm.

    Items most needed:

    • Non-Clumping, unscented litter (the animals are using 10 20kg bags/week)
    • Canned kitten food
    • Dry Kitten Food (Performatrin or Pro Plan is preferred)
    • Kitten formula and bottles
    • 3 ml and 5 ml syringes
    • Jugs of water (the animals go through 15 litres/day)
    • Surgical gloves
    • Dawn dish soap for emergency animal care
    • Regular dish soap for dishes and litter pans
    • Bleach
    • Unscented Laundry Soap and dryer sheets

    • Kitten’s first vet visit and vaccination                    $29
    • Animal’s vet visit with booster (rabies)                 $45
    • Feline neuter                                                     $85
    • Mom’s spay                                                       $145
    • Don’t forget we need help with the cost of flea treatment, dewormer, microchips and more!

    We are still looking for volunteers to help with daily chores around the trailer.

    If you can help 2-3 hours in the morning or can help with laundry

    Cruelty Complaints

    At this time, Norfolk County OPP investigate acts of Cruelty or Neglect throughout Norfolk County.

    In Norfolk County contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122

    If you would like to report an act of cruelty to the OSPCA please contact 1-888-668-7722 (for emergencies during weekends or evenings dial ext. 1) or click here to send an email.

    If you are witnessing an act of Cruelty or an animal is in immediate distress due to an act of Cruelty, please contact your local police department.

    Although Norfolk County OPP conduct animal cruelty investigations throughout the area, Simcoe and District Humane Society helps with the care, treatment and housing of animals when requested. As with all programs within the Society, the cost of care for these animals is not covered by any level of government or other organization. SDHS relies on fundraising efforts and donations from the community while helping the animals.
